Labradorite

Labradorite is a strange gemstone that appears blue, green and gold in bright light, but when taken to a room with dim lights, it appears to be dark green or grey in color. This is a type of plagioclase feldspar and is formed in igneous rocks. This gemstone can be either transparent or translucent and darker stones are called black moonstones. This stone was first discovered in 1805 on the coast of Labrador. Thus, we can call it a newer stone when compared to some other stones which have been in use since ancient times. Labradorite stones are found in Canada, Ural Mountains, USA and Ukraine.
